Preparing For Your Exam:

On the morning of your exam, you should continue with your normal routine of food and medications unless otherwise instructed for certain abdominal and pelvic scans. Please arrive dressed metal-free or we may have you change into scrubs upon arrival. This means no jewelry (rings, piercings, watches, etc), no zippers, buttons, or snaps. If needed, we can provide you appropriate apparel and a private changing room to lock up your belongings. We encourage you to bring a pair of socks since you will need to remove your shoes. Plan to arrive 20 minutes in advance of your scheduled time unless otherwise instructed and remember to bring your insurance card.

Anyone taking anti-anxiety medication for claustrophobia MUST have a driver to and from their appointment.

Upon arrival we will have you sign some registration paperwork and review your medical history.

Please contact us prior to your arrival if you have any of the following:

  • Cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators or other implanted devices

  • Any prior surgeries to heart or brain

  • Any prior injury involving metal or rust to your eyes or face

  • Metal fragments from military service or work

  • Surgical implantation of any metal, wire, or electronic devices.

  • Pregnancy

  • Any surgery or tattoos within the past six weeks
